Dr. Zhanna Lehmann is a choir director of St. Nicholas Choir and The Illinois Orthodox Choir. She has been working with choirs for over 20 years. She started her musical career after graduation from the Kazan State Conservatory in Russia (the city where St. Raphael of Brooklyn worked and taught Arabic at the Kazan Theological Academy). Upon completion of her education at the Conservatory, Zhanna was an instructor and assistant principal for a Music School in her hometown of Dimitrovgrad, Russia. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Illinois.
Dr. Lehmann is a member of the Sacred Music Committee of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese, an active clinician, and offers choral and conducting workshops for church choirs and choir directors.
Dr. Lehmann works in the music ministry of the St. Moses the Black Fellowship. She is a music editor of the Jubilee Liturgy by Abess Katherine and she was a choir director of the National Conference Choir that premiered the Jubilee Liturgy at the FSMB Conference at St. George Antiochian Church in Houston, TX in October of 2023.
