"Go therefore into all the world..."
A conference weekend focused on Christian missions both domestic and foreign with V. Rev. Fr. Peter Gillquist and V. Rev. Gordon Walker.
Both Fr. Peter and Fr. Gordon served as regional directors with Campus Crusade and now serve with the Department of Missions and Evangelism for the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America.
The schedule is as follows:
7:00pm Thursday, October 30
Fr. Peter Gillquist
"And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15) "And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them......." (Mark 16:20a, NKJV)
What is the "gospel" they preached? How does it compare with the varieties of messages about the Gospel we hear at the beginning of the 21st century?
Does this command to "Go" apply to all Christians or just the apostles?
Do I have to go somewhere? Why isn't "their" religion ok?
Does this mean we should preach on the quad at the U of I or on the street corner?
1:00pm Friday, October 31
(if there is interest expressed)
A conversation with Fr. Gillquist and area pastors and religious workers about bringing people to Christ. Come share your views about evangelism and becoming a Christian? Fr. Peter is interested in hearing and sharing what is effective and what is not?
